Details
Master Lee has been commissioned and invited to perform calligraphy for many temples and public offices. His work has been used to create many wooden signs that hang above the main gate. Gwaneumsa Temple in Gongju is one of the more famous locations with one of these signs.
Master Lee has been invited over 25 times to participate in various Korean national calligraphy competitions. He has also been invited to over 35 national calligraphy exhibits, seven of them solo events featuring only his work. Other invitations have resulted in exhibitions across the world from Germany to Kuwait.
Master Lee works in the city of Gongju, the historical root of the Baekje Dynasty, which lasted from 18 B.C until 660 A.D. His works are widely recognized, especially in Japan and Germany. His confident style is deeply influenced by both Buddhist and Confucian culture and content.
